Posted by Julie Skaff on April 30, 2020

This Saturday, May 2, 2020, horse racing fans around the world can partake in Churchill Downs’® first ever Kentucky Derby® At Home Party and Virtual Race. The first weekend in May is traditionally Derby Weekend and like many other horse racing fans, all of us here at Derby Experiences can’t let the day go by without celebrating and taking part in all the festivities!

Luckily, Churchill Downs, the Kentucky Derby Museum and Derby Experiences have you covered with tons of fun activities to do, broadcasts to watch, and party supplies to throw the best virtual party with friends and family around the globe.

You can’t throw a virtual Derby party without indulging in some Kentucky Derby classic recipes! Make sure to check out some of our favorite recipes beforehand to ensure you have all the ingredients, because a sip of this Mint Julep and a slice of Derby Pie is sure to transport your mind right to Churchill Downs.

Kentucky Derby 146 Merchandise & Party Supplies

Here’s some great news: The Kentucky Derby Museum Store is currently offering 20% off Kentucky Derby 146 merchandise, including clothing and party supplies. The best part? 20% of every sale purchase will be donated to the One Louisville: COVID-19 response fund.

The Kentucky Derby Museum Shop has everything you could possibly need to throw a Kentucky Derby party, including Official Mint Julep glasses, plates, napkins, balloons, t-shirts and so much more. They are offering curbside pickup for Louisville locals to pick up their supplies, including a limited-edition 2020 Kentucky Derby Woodford Reserve bottle, on Thursday, May 1st from 1-4:00pm at the Kentucky Derby Museum.

Any shipped-orders won’t quite make it in time for the Virtual Derby on May 2nd, but it’s the perfect time to take advantage of the 20% sale to stock up on all your supplies for a September party or any birthday gifts!
