Mystik Dan wins the 2024 Kentucky Derby!

On Saturday, May 4, Official Ticket Package holders watched Mystik Dan thunder across the finish line with a time of 2:03.34 winning the 150th Kentucky Derby by one of the smallest margins in event history.

Mystik Dan, who came into the race with 18-1 odds wasn’t the only one who made history at the Run for the Roses. The victory gave jockey Bryan Hernandez Jr. and trainer Kenneth McPeek the rare double weekend sweep of the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby, the first time this has been accomplished since 1952.

Sierra Leone produced the cleanest race of the favored horses but made a late run down the outside, missing Mystik Dan by the nose. Forever Young attempted to become the first Japanese horse to win the first leg of the Triple Crown, but he finished in third close behind Mystik Dan and Sierra Leone.
