Loren Hebel-Osborne Biography:
In Kentucky, Thoroughbred racing is a way of life and Loren has made her life-long passion a career.
“I’m the fifth generation Louisvillian – I got the “Derby gene” at birth. Like many young girls, I was horse crazy; however, my first riding lesson occurred when my mother was still pregnant with me and riding her Saddlebreds. I began riding solo at age three, and got my first pony at six – I haven’t hung up my tack yet.”
Few have had the opportunity to experience the sport of kings quite the way she has too. During her 15 years with Visa®, Loren was involved in all aspects of managing its sponsorship of the Triple Crown and the Kentucky Derby where there were an unprecedented six attempts and near misses for the elusive 12th Triple Crown winner.
“I got to be a part of Thoroughbred history and work with racing legends (humans and horses) of past, present and future. I still pinch myself when I recall that I used to travel with the Triple Crown trophy to Pimlico and Belmont Park as a piece of my carry on luggage,” (once featured on an episode of A & E TV series “Airline”). Alliances were made with owners, trainers and jockeys who are the best in this business and my interactions with so many great horses were magical.”
Loren and her husband, Kentucky State Representative and horse industry advocate, David Osborne, maintain an active racing and breeding farm just outside of Louisville. She helps to manage multiple racing partnerships with her husband, and Loren still breaks their yearlings herself. Loren and David are active at the Sales (horse auctions for racing and breeding) and can be seen often on the backside managing their racing stables with a hands-on approach.
The couple also donates two large pastures on their farm to Pegasus Equine Retirement Foundation where a small band of rescued or retired race horses live out the remainder of their lives with love and appreciation. A few owned Thoroughbreds of note include 2009 Indiana Bred Horse of the Year and Three-time (2009, 2010, 2011) Indiana Sired Older-Horse Champion, Unreachable Star, multiple graded-stakes-winner Laura’s Pistolette, multiple stakes-placed, and sire Unloosened, and stakes-winning Grand Traverse.

Tom Leach Biography:
Like so many boys in Kentucky, Tom grew up with a passion for Kentucky football and basketball. "Once I knew I wasn't going to make a career of playing sports, I thought the best job would be the one Cawood Ledford and Ralph Hacker had. And I was right--it is the best job in the world for me."
Another Bluegrass tradition has been party of Tom's dream since a youngster. As a high school senior, Tom listed his ultimate career goal: "to become the next Voice of the Wildcats." Talk about your long shots. Almost every broadcaster in Kentucky wants that best seat in Rupp Arena, but the dream came true for Tom.
